San Antonio Area Foundation Right Place for Planned Gift

San Antonio Area Foundation Right Place for Planned Gift

When Marlene Merritt moved to San Antonio 15 years ago, she considered how her trust could make a difference in the community. "I wanted to do something positive with the money," Ms. Merritt said. "I decided to look for a plan that addressed four concerns: a fund in my name; flexibility on where the money was donated; a board of trustees to help distribute extra funds; and low administrative costs."

The San Antonio Area Foundation was recommended by a friend and Merritt was excited to discover the organization met all four criteria for her planned gift. "It gave me much peace of mind to bequeath my trust to the Area Foundation," she explained. Listen to more from Marlene in an audio conversation.

Active in many charitable endeavors, Ms. Merritt serves on the Warm Springs Foundation Board. Her son John, learning by example, is involved in nonprofit programs.
